MY TURN: Time to tilt the power grid

Election time always brings out the worst in some people; usually persons who are threatened by facts and opposition that may cause them to lose the power they worship.

More than ever, that is certainly obvious with the present leadership of the KCRCC. Mr. Regan and his supporters, many of whom presently are precinct representatives, are working overtime in misleading the voters on some very important issues that impact every citizen in Kootenai County.

The list of “vetted and rated” Republicans who are on the KCRCC ballot reads like a list of those who for the last several election cycles have proven themselves loyal to an extreme ideology and not to the well-being of Kootenai County and Idaho’s future.

For instance, Marc Eberlein proved himself inept and arrogant during his four years as county commissioner, placing many citizens in homes that were unsafe and not up to codes (codes which he had gotten rid of till it was proven illegal).

Many of the legislative choices given the thumbs up on the KCRCC ballot are those that have caused havoc in the state Legislature, bringing their radical beliefs to measures that impact all of Idaho.

The majority of precinct committeemen running for re-election have done nothing for the community as a whole, and rarely have participated in any community events other than supporting Brent Regan and his reign as KCRCC head.

Those running from the North Idaho Republicans (https://www.northidahorepublicans.org/) reads like a list of “Who’s Who in Citizen Involvement,” and are now willing to give more of their dedication to a better community by working to change the destructive direction of the KCRCC. Please vote in the May 21 election — Kootenai County’s healthy future depends on it.
