PREP ROUNDUP: Four locals take second at Pasco Invitational

PASCO, Wash. — Coeur d’Alene freshman Wyatt Carr (3,200 in 9 minutes, 2046 seconds), Post Falls junior Trenton McLean (6 feet, 4 inches in high jump) and senior Kinlee McLean (26.39 in 200), as well as Sandpoint senior Ivy Smith (41-11 ¾ in the shot put) finished runner-up at the Pasco Invitational at Edgar Brown Stadium on Saturday.

Coeur d’Alene juniors Max Cervi-Skinner (third in 4:14.29) and Zack Cervi-Skinner (fourth in 4:14.43) placed in the 3,200. Post Falls junior Cobe Cameron was fifth in the 800 (50.52). 

The Sandpoint boys distance medley relay team of Jett Longanecker, Kasten Grimm, Daniel Ricks and Nathan Roche was third in 10:45.04. In the pole vault, Klein Fragoso was fourth out of 35, clearing 14 feet and 6 inches for a new personal best; he is now tied for second in school history. 

Bonners Ferry senior Asha Abubakari was third in the shot put (41-8 ½) and fourth in the discus (125-1).

Lakeland junior Weston Saputski was sixth in the 200 (22.60) and classmate Ziya Munyer was fifth in the triple jump (34-11 ½). 

Tebbe wins two at

Cheney invite

CHENEY — Timberlake senior Caius Tebbe notched wins in the 110-meter hurdles and 300 hurdles, and was second in the long jump at the Van Kuren Invitational at Cheney High.

Nathan Russell, a senior from Coeur d’Alene Charter, won the 800 in 1 minute, 58.14 seconds.

Cheney (boys) and East Valley of Spokane (girls) won team titles.

St. Maries sweeps team titles 

at Kellogg Relays

KELLOGG — Alexzander Lambson, who has signed to compete at NAIA Lewis-Clark State, won the discus, and was also part of victories in the 4x100 relay and 4x100 throwers relay for the Lumberjack boys, who ran away with the boys team title at the Kellogg Relays at Dale Hunt Track and Field.

St. Maries finished with 130.5 points, with host Kellogg finishing second with 74.

Jacklin Linnemeyer, also an LCSC signee, won the girls shot put and discus for the Lumberjacks, who won the girls team title with 108.5 points.
