Loraine 'Lori' Joann Buck, 82

| April 14, 2024 1:00 AM

Loraine Joann "Lori" Buck, 82, passed away peacefully Monday, April 1, 2024, surrounded by family at her home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Lori was welcomed into this world Feb. 26, 1942, by parents Raymond and Jean Owen in Flagstaff, Ariz. Following a stint in Canyonville, Ore., the family relocated to San Diego, Calif., in 1957. Lori soon met and fell in love with Charles T. "Chuck" Buck, and the two were married in December 1958. They lived in San Diego until 2005 when they relocated to Coeur d’Alene.

A consummate hostess, Lori enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; playing games, baking, decorating cookies, reading and writing, as well as sharing the many memories made during travels with Chuck. The couple spent summers driving throughout the country to share their life testimony at church speaking engagements, interspersed with occasional promotional events for the family business, Buck Knives Inc.

Lori touched the lives of many people with compassion and grace. While we celebrate her undoubtedly warm reception and family reunion in heaven, she will be missed by those of us on earth.

Our family appreciates the love and prayers shared over the last few months and since her passing.

She is survived by her sister, Dori; two children, CJ with his wife, Heidi, and Maralee with her husband, Joe; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Chuck and Lori had a ministry calling to strengthen marriages so in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that those who so desire can make donations in Lori’s name to Focus on the Family and specifically for the Hope Restored marriage retreat ministry.
