Join IdaPost: Lit Loops

| September 29, 2023 1:00 AM

The Idaho Commission on the Arts is accepting registrations for IdaPost: Lit Loops, a creative writing pen pal project in collaboration with Idaho’s Writer in Residence Kerri Webster.

Interested writers can sign up by Oct. 31 at arts.idaho.gov/idapost. In November, registrants will be mailed the name and address of two other writers — forming their Lit Loop — as well as the first writing prompt from Webster. Pals exchange their responses in communication method they agree on. The initial writing prompt will be followed by three others, arriving with USPS. As part of their Lit Loop, pals will give each other feedback, exchange ideas and provide encouragement at their own pace.

No writing experience is necessary; prompts will be appropriate for all levels of experience. Participants do not have to be from Idaho or live in Idaho to participate, but must be 18 or older. There is no cost to join IdaPost but writers must pay for outgoing postage.

As part of the fourth annual IdaPost project, Idaho Writer in Residence Kerri Webster will lead people through an investigation of the pathways that connect us — physically, emotionally or abstractly — with Idaho writers.

The Idaho Commission on the Arts, a state agency under the Office of the Governor, enables access to the arts, arts education, and Idahoans’ cultural and artistic heritage.
