Daniel Jacob Oyler (Clarke), 23, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, ascended into Eternal Life on Sept. 6, 2023 at 1:14 a.m. at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, Calif. Daniel was born May 6, 2000, in Coeur d’Alene to Dale S. Oyler and Terry L. Bowen.

Daniel had an affinity for acting and performed in multiple Coeur d’Alene High School plays, including the lead role of George Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life” (2017) where he was awarded best actor. He also helped his competitive drama team take first at multiple district and state drama competitions. He was a part of the Thespian Troop 1229 and lettered in theatre. After graduation, he was invited back to help with competitions. Daniel also was hired by The Coeur d’Alene Resort to play Santa for the Christmas cruises a couple of years in a row. He was awarded a merit scholarship to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) in Los Angeles after passing an audition. With all the bravery and determination a talented and ambitious young man could have, he left Coeur d’Alene and followed his dream to L.A. and attended two years at AADA, where he made amazing friends and learned from so many talented teachers and peers. He was cast in his graduation production of “All My Sons” as the lead “Joe Keller” and received a standing ovation and an Oscar-winning cheer from his audience. His dream came true. He loved school and transformed into an even more amazing young man and a talented actor.

Daniel loved video games, from The Last of Us to Minecraft. He was a huge Marvel fan, but his favorite hero was Spider-Man. He was a definite movie buff and could have easily gotten a job as a movie/theatre critic. He had a passion for knowledge and loved to discuss and debate just about anything. Daniel also had a talent for and loved to write stories.

Daniel also was a born again Christian and loved Jesus. Anyone who knew Daniel and experienced his compassion, kindness, loyalty and tenderheartedness could clearly see the love of Christ shining through him and we take comfort in knowing we will see him again.

Survived by his mother and stepfather, Terry Bowen and Terry Long, his father and stepmother, Dale Oyler and Sharon Oyler, his sister, Amanda and brother-in-law Matthew and their children; nieces Aria Maeve and Ember Elise, grandparents MaryBeth Briggs Bowen, Daniel K Oyler and Connie Oyler, as well as his aunts and uncles and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Foy Bowen, and uncle Logan Montgomery Knight.
