“Lakeland is a much-improved team; they've got some pieces they didn’t have last year,” Ruchti said. “It was a good match where we had to work for everything we got.”

Junior Mira Crawford had a goal and four assists for Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy (8-1-0).

“We were a little too direct early in the game and missed some opportunities to attack the goal with easy passes, but eventually settled into a groove,” Charter coach Stacy Smith. “Again, a strong upperclassmen leadership presence on the field helped us get organized and eventually connect as I'd like to see. Also had a good opportunity to give some minutes to players who are young and developing while those senior leaders were on the field to help guide them. Proud of the overall outcome despite giving up a corner.”
