Beulah 'Evelyn' Bossingham, 88

| September 13, 2023 1:00 AM

Beulah “Evelyn” Bossingham, age 88, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, following a few years of dementia. Her family held her hand until she drew her final breath.

“Evelyn” as she was known, was born Jan. 5, 1935, in South Dakota to Maxwell and Marietta Chandler. The family relocated to Coeur d’Alene in 1939, when she was 4 years old. She attended and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School. She married her best friend, Jim, in 1953. Together, they adopted and lovingly raised their two sons, Dennis and Jeffrey.

Evelyn said that her most important job in life was to be the best mother to her boys that she could be. And she was. She was their best friend. She was a Cub Scout mom, a fishing partner, their biggest fan at sports games, a fort-building partner and a teacher of pranks and jokes. She and Dad loved being snowbirds and went to Arizona every year from 1994 to 2019. They had many friends there as well and she loved the hot weather.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and son Dennis. She leaves behind her son, Jeffrey, and daughter-in-law Natalie, eight grandchildren, Doug, Kelsey, Kevin, Kirsten, Alissa, Ashley, Jordan and Brityn, and 19 great-grandchildren. She will be forever missed, as she was the smile that kept her family shining with love and grace.

Service is to be held privately with family.
