NIC: More than just a college

Where is the outrage? Even if you have never attended North Idaho College or don’t expect to ever have kids attending, you should be outraged over the three majority board members who continue to drive it into the ground. Recognize that NIC is vital to your quality of life and economic prosperity even if you will never take a class there.

NIC is not only one of the most beautiful campuses in the U.S., it plays a vital role in the University of Idaho-Lewis-Clark-NIC consortium that enables us the local pursuit of a range of baccalaureate degree programs. Many cannot afford to pursue an academic degree if it means having to leave this area. Plus, recognize that NIC is the primary pipeline and backbone provider of technical training that supports our local health care, manufacturing and trades interests.

Without an accredited NIC, our economy, quality of life and resulting property values will suffer immensely. Again, you do not need to have attended a single class at NIC to be significantly effected by the wanton dereliction of duty of the three board members who are bent on driving NIC off a cliff.

Remember the names Banducci, Waggoner and McKenzie. These three are guilty of pushing NIC to the precipice of financial and academic ruin. They lack the character and fundamental business acumen necessary to preserve and protect NIC’s (our!) future.

Please join me in voting them out when their terms end in 2024.
