SMALL-TOWN FLAVOR: Thing of the past

With the influx of new transplants from you know where, we have seen over the past 40-plus years, the demise of the small-town flavor of the North Idaho communities. The infrastructure is not keeping up and the roads are in disrepair in many areas. The car shows have been taken over by the greedy clubs from Spokane. The Silverwood show back in the day was $10 to enter with a guest along. Now itʼs $35. The Spirit Lake show is and has been overpriced for years and they have the worst restrooms in the state, I wouldnʼt let my dog use them. I donʼt mind a little progress, but not on the backs of the locals who have been here forever. This area once was a place to come to, now itʼs a good time to pack up and get out. Oh sure, no thanks, I can do my own packing.
