KUDOS: Officer helped turn scary situation around

I want to give a shout-out of praise to a local law enforcement officer who went above and beyond.

Our granddaughter and her boyfriend were headed to a dinner date Friday evening. They pulled into a parking lot in his truck that he had purchased recently with his own money and he is ever so proud of it. Sadly it is identical to one that had been reported earlier to have been driven by an individual waving a gun around. Four law enforcement officers spotted the young couple, pulled them out of his truck, made them walk backward with their hands in the air, handcuffed them, and put them in the back of a patrol car until they could sort things out.

These are two good, sweet, kind young people who have neither one ever been in any kind of serious trouble, even at home, let alone with the law, so they were understandably terrified and badly shaken up.

My reason for this letter is to publicly thank the officer responsible for the fact that when our granddaughter and her boyfriend went to pay the bill for their dinner, they were told by the server that it had been covered by the officer. Thank you and God bless you Sir for redeeming their horrific experience and turning it into one they can tell their grandkids about!
