Stacy and Georgia Carhart

60th Anniversary

Stacy and Georgia Carhart celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 21 with their 11 children, 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and all their spouses and significant others for a total of 75. They celebrated at Majestic Park in Rathdrum with all of their family and many close friends.

They were married June 15, 1963, in Santa Monica, Calif. They moved to southern Idaho before settling in Rathdrum in 1968 where they have lived ever since.

They became active in the 4-H program in 1974 — starting the Ramsey Raiders 4-H club as organizational leaders and leading swine and crocheting.

Stacy started coaching softball in 1993 — starting the Dry Ice fast pitch softball organization where he was a coach and manger until 2018. Georgia was always by his side supporting him behind the scenes.

They raised their 11 children on the farm in Rathdrum growing a huge garden and raising most of their own meat — chickens, steers, pigs and they also milked cows.

Stacy worked many places ending his career running his own business Controls Plus. He retired around 10 years ago. They both enjoy gardening and raising their chickens, and of course family time is always the best. They have always been active in their Catholic faith. They celebrated their 25th and 40th wedding anniversary with a trip from their children to Hawaii. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family trip to Glacier. For the past 10 years, they have returned each year to Hawaii in January for a three-week stay. They are hoping to return this year.

They have been great examples to many of what true love and marriage is. Their dedication, love, empathy and patience to each other and their family is unmatched.
