ELECTION: Vote for Lamb

Who has the time and leadership to serve as mayor of Rathdrum?

Briefly looking at the candidates’ experiences and community involvement, the choice becomes clear. John Lamb is currently the president of the Radiant Lake Owner’s Association, re-elected recently last May. He is a 36-year active-duty veteran having retired at the rank of Command Sergeant Major. He is an active member of the Rathdrum American Legion, the Long-range Planning Committee for Lakeland School District, and is a Rathdrum Planning & Zoning Commissioner. He is retired and has the time available to serve full time as our mayor.

Mike Hill works full time in Spokane as the Senior Transportation Manager of Fixed Route for Spokane Transit and is currently on the Rathdrum City Council and is also a member of the Rathdrum Lion’s Club. Based on his website, Mr. Hill also has a busy family with four children. It is difficult to see how he would have the time left to fill the role of mayor of Rathdrum.

Anthony Turrentine is a construction project manager who runs his own business. While well-intentioned and certainly likable, he has no documented experience in leadership, and as with Mr. Hill, it is difficult to see how he can work on his new and growing business and have the time required to get up to speed on the governing processes of the city and effectively represent our city.

The choice is clear… John Lamb.
