Woman dies in Hwy 3 crash

A 40-year-old St. Maries woman died Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on State Hwy 3, just north of Harrison.

Idaho State Police reported the crash occurred shortly before 3 p.m. when the 2001 black Toyota 4Runner the woman was driving southbound left the roadway, entered a ditch and rolled.

The driver, whose name was not released by ISP, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, said a news release. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police and Harrison Fire and EMS assisted with the crash.

The wreck blocked Hwy 3 for roughly five and a half hours and remains under investigation by ISP.
