NIC ROUNDUP: Cardinal volleyball keeps rolling with sweep of Treasure Valley

COEUR d’ALENE — Sophomore Rylee Hartwig had 13 kills and four blocks for North Idaho College in a 25-9, 25-20, 25-21 Northwest Athletic Conference sweep of the Treasure Valley Chukars on Wednesday at Christianson Gymnasium, the Cardinals 14th straight win.

Freshman Karolyne Wolfgramm had 32 assists, 12 digs and three aces for NIC (20-1, 8-0 NWAC).

“Karolyne did a great job of running her team and keeping us focused,” NIC coach Brittany Tilleman said. Athletically, we’re good, but need to be able to control the little things. If we can do that, we’ll be just fine.”

Brooklyn Minden, a sophomore from Post Falls High, had 17 digs for NIC, which visits Yakima Valley on Friday before returning home on Saturday to face Blue Mountain.

Addison Raebel, a freshman from Lakeland High, had nine kills and five digs for Treasure Valley (9-10, 3-5).

SPOKANE — Sophomore Teresa Ledezma scored in the 50th minute for the Cardinals, who played to a Northwest Athletic Conference draw with the Sasquatch at Spokane Falls Community College.

Sophomore Kaycee Chavez had nine saves for NIC (10-4-2, 6-2-2 NWAC), which hosts Walla Walla on Saturday.

Spokane is (8-2-3, 7-1-2).

SPOKANE — Kael McGowan, a freshman from Post Falls High, had nine saves for the Cardinals in a Northwest Athletic Conference draw with the Sasquatch at Spokane Falls Community College.

"Kael had another huge game for us tonight," NIC coach Brad Williams said. "As a team, we were super dialed in defensively and played well as a team. We made it really tough for Spokane to get chances, and when they did, Kael was there."

NIC (2-7-2, 1-6-2 NWAC) hosts Walla Walla on Saturday.

Spokane is 3-2-3, 3-2-3.
