NIC GOLF: Cardinal teams finish runner-up at Highlander Invitational

LACEY, Wash. — North Idaho College sophomore Lalia Jalil finished third with a 159 at the Highlander Invitational on Tuesday at Indian Summer Golf Club.

NIC finished second in the women’s tournament with a 257-244—501, .

NIC sophomore Josh McCartain finished tied for third with a 4-over 148 after shooting 74 on both days of the tournament.

Fraser Valley’s Jackson Jacob shot a 1-over 145 to earn men’s medalist. Lucy Park of Fraser Valley was women’s medalist with a 7-over 151.

Fraser Valley of Abbotsford, British Columbia swept team titles. Fraser Valley's men took third at the Canadian nationals last spring and the women were fifth.

NIC competes in a tournament at Bandon Dunes Golf Course in Bandon, Ore., on Sunday and Monday to conclude the fall season.
