THE CHEAP SEATS with STEVE CAMERON: Seahawks put on their own show, sans Swifties

Welcome to the night after the night before.

The Seahawks and Giants might as well have been lounge singers, stuck playing a seedy piano bar somewhere out in Queens.

Deservedly so, in the Giants’ case.

After all, these teams weren’t on stage for the big, big showcase event on Sunday night — although you can argue that Devon Witherspoon, I don’t know, might have showed up to wave hello.

Anyhow, 24 hours before the Hawks saw MetLife Stadium, Kansas City won a thriller over the Jets in that very same venue — with pop megastar Taylor Swift on hand to whoop and holler in support of her new flame, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Without singing a note, Swift helped draw a whopping 27 million to their TV sets, the largest single audience for any program since the Super Bowl.

Play-by-play voice Mike Tirico even opened the Sunday telecast by saying: “Hi, Swifties!”

Why not?

Swift has an almost unbelievable 338 million followers (yes, “Swifties”) on social media, plus another 48 million subscribers to her YouTube channel.

Swift’s presence at the last two Chiefs games has been a publicity coup for the NFL.

Safe to say Kelce has had a pretty good time, too.

SO, WHAT about the Seahawks and that usually glaring spotlight of Monday Night Football?

Well, they missed Taylor Swift and all the hoopla, but on the other hand, the Swifties missed Witherspoon and the Seattle defense.

In a bizarre sort of game that saw Geno Smith miss some time with an injured knee — and then get flagged later for taunting the guy who did it — the Seahawks (3-1) slugged their way to a 24-3 victory over a Giants team that couldn’t block anybody.

The Hawks sacked Daniel Jones 11 times (no, that’s not a typo), and of course, Witherspoon got a couple of those on his first try playing the nickel position.

Oh, and in third quarter, when the Giants ALMOST got back in the game entirely on Jones’ gutty running, Witherspoon read his eyes on a pass from the 5-yard line, jumped a hook route and went 97 yards the other way to put the game out of reach at 21-3.

By the way, on that issue of Smith spending some time in the medical tent, we got to see Drew Lock take some meaningful snaps in the second quarter with the score 7-3.

He completed just two of five passes, but the biggie went 51 yards to Noah Fant down the sideline to the New York 1-yard line — setting up a smash by Kenneth Walker III and a 14-3 lead that felt like millions-to-nothing.

Somehow, the 250-pound Fant shrugged off three tackles while dancing just inside the sideline like a ballerina.

For style points, Fant edged tip-toeing linebacker Jordyn Brooks, who scooped up a Jones fumble in the first quarter and whirled his way to the Giants 7-yard line – allowing Smith to hit DK Metcalf for a 7-0 lead.

It was not all just a stroll through Central Park for the Seahawks, however.

More like dodging traffic on the Meadowlands exit ramps as the Giants fans — finally done booing — headed for highways like an angry army.

THE BEST news for the Seahawks — besides the victory — is courtesy of the schedule.

They have a bye week coming up.

Besides Smith needing to heal, the star-crossed Jamal Adams finally got to play for the first time in a year — and suffered a concussion when Jones’ knee whacked his helmet with 10:17 left in the first quarter.

Yes.

Really.

Adams already had delivered a fierce hit on a short pass, and nearly sacked Jones before the blow to the head, so you can guess what a force he’ll be when he’s back for real.

Light candles for that.

And naturally, the offensive line remains in flux, as center Evan Brown had to move over and replace injured guard Damien Lewis.

Both starting tackles — Charles Cross and Abe Lucas — were already ruled out.

We’ll have to see how many of these banged-up big guys can get back in two weeks.

Bottom line, the Hawks who were still upright did what was needed to make the long flight home a little more pleasant.

They also continued two trends.

Seattle is now 29-12 on Monday nights, the best record in the NFL on these showcase evenings.

The Giants, on the other hand, have lost eight straight on Mondays — and are now 1-3 this season.

I’m not sure Taylor Swift would have urged her 338 million followers to wait one more day and watch this Seahawks “masterpiece,” but hey, now she’s becoming a football junkie, right?

So, Taylor will have to learn to love defense.

And booing.
