WEAVER: ‘Defiance in the face of tyranny’

In response to Tad Leach’s letter dated Sept. 27, a couple of facts regarding Randy Weaver and Ruby Ridge. The cascade of events actually began when the ATF broke the law by engaging in a three-year entrapment operation (Gus Magisano) followed by the wrong court date (Richins Letter to Weaver). It’s well documented that had Randy Weaver agreed to work with ATF as an informant (their original goal, hence the entrapment), “nobody would know his name,” as all charges in the 1/8-inch short barreled “crime of the century” would have been dropped.

Randy’s real crime was defiance in the face of tyranny. The feds don’t like being told “No.”

Let’s not forget that a $200 tax stamp would have also satisfied the feds. Let that sink in. A $200 tax to call off the dogs. Instead, they shot and killed his dog. And his son. And his wife. Wounded him and Kevin Harris.

All the above are facts proven in a court of law, with documents to support (copies avail upon request) and affirmed by the jury’s verdict.

American citizens are under no obligation to comply with any “authority” that violates the Constitution and violates the very “laws” that said authority is trying to enforce in the course of doing so.

This notion and mindset that the Constitution restricts “We the People” is false and wrong. It was written to keep the government in check. How’s that workin’ out?

Mr. Leach, did your oath as a citizen retire when you did?

We are not Subjects.

“We the People” took care of that issue back in ’76.
