Temporary signal lights on Seltice Way

POST FALLS — Temporary signal lights are going up at the offramp on Seltice Way in Post Falls, west of Bay Street and east of Idaho Street.
An eastbound lane was closed on the overpass Thursday as Thorco crews worked on installing the lights. The work is related to the Idaho Transportation Department's Interstate 90/State Highway 41 interchange project, public information officer Heather McDaniel confirmed. Thorco is expected to be done with its work causing this lane closure sometime today.
"They are doing some preliminary installation for temporary signals that will be used in later phases of the project when the westbound offramp is moved," McDaniel said. “It’s a good time because as the construction season winds down some of our contractors have the bandwidth for smaller projects like this.”
Even though these lights won't be be put into use for months, it’s helpful to get the infrastructure installed in advance so it's one less thing to juggle down the road as the project advances toward completion, McDaniel said.
Construction began on the interchange project in 2022 and will continue through 2025. Crews have been focusing on I-90 eastbound and westbound bridges, temporary bridges and Seltice Way this year.
