The Altar planning free Christmas dinner

COEUR d'ALENE — Fresh off of serving nearly 500 free Thanksgiving meals, The Altar Church is turning its attention to doing the same on Christmas Day.

'It's really in my heart to do something special this year," said organizer Stephanie Roberts. 

This will be the fourth year the Altar Church will offer dine-in, pick up or delivery of dinners from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 25. 

Roberts said they expect to serve several hundred people and could use volunteers and donations to make it happen.
