NIC hosting seventh annual Diversity Symposium

The North Idaho College will host its seventh annual Diversity Symposium at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Lake Coeur d’Alene Room of the Edminster Student Union Building at NIC’s Coeur d’Alene campus.

The event is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to join in person or via Zoom at nic.zoom.us/j/82061429934.

The symposium consists of a viewing of the documentary “Daughter of a Lost Bird” followed by a virtual Q&A with the director Brooke Pepion Swaney and the subject Kendra Mylnechuk.

The film follows Mylnechuk, an adult Native adoptee, as she reconnects with her birth family, discovers her Lummi heritage and confronts issues of her own identity.
