Rosa Mae Swingley, 95

Rosa was born Dec. 27, 1927, in Paradise, Kent., to Joseph and Elsie (Wester) Hill. 

Rosa passed away Nov. 16, 2023, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the age of 95. She lived in Hayden, Idaho, for 17 years. She grew up in Hartford, Kent. 

She married William Burgess in 1945 and together they had six children. They remained in Hartford until 1950, when the family moved to Illinois. In 1963, the family moved to Southern California.

Rosa worked in manufacturing for 23 years. She enjoyed being outside to tend to her gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting and quilting.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy; and nephew, Jeff.

Rosa is survived by her five children; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, 73 E. Hayden Ave. Hayden, Idaho 83835. Rosa will be laid to rest at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
