Patrick Hurrell, 92

| November 15, 2023 1:00 AM

With sadness, the family of Patrick Hurrell shares his passing.

To know Pat was to know an all-American, a man of God, kindness and integrity. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend to so many.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Donna. He is survived by daughter Jeanne, sons Joeseph and Scott (wife Cathy), grandchildren Oliver and Windy (spouse John) and delightful-to-all great-grandtwins Catherine and Demitria, along with brother Mike (wife Jeannie), nephews Tim, Mark and Tommy and nieces Lori and Judy, cousin Mary, sister-in-law Mary Anne and great friends Keith, Miles, Pete and neighbor Lynn.

Patrick attended the University of Idaho and proudly served in the Army, post WWII, in Germany. Patrick and Donna met in Coeur d’Alene and shared their lives in the custom home they built together and raised their family in. Every holiday and special occasion was shared there. They traveled with The Good Sams for many years in their RV after he retired from Kaiser Aluminum. He enjoyed spending his time with his family, boating, watching hydroplane racing, going to car shows and watching sports. His love for animals started with his bulldog, Zeus, and continued with Jaynin's dogs, Sophie, Ridge and Pickles. So, when you see a bulldog, remember Patrick John Hurrell. His humor and storytelling will be missed by many.

Service will be held at the church he was an usher at for many years, St. Thomas, on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m., with lunch following at St. Thomas Center.

Special thanks to Kootenai Health Hospice and Silver Ridge Nursing Home.
