Veterans Day concert Saturday

| November 10, 2023 1:00 AM

The Coeur d’Alene Music Conservatory will present "Remembrance," a Veterans Day concert featuring family favorite patriotic tunes and traditional classical Americana songs at 6 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church.

The concert will include a flute trio playing a patriotic medley, a youth choir singing patriotic songs and character pieces by soloist Nannette Erickson, all preceded by a color guard ceremony by a local post.

Zeru Wang will perform "Ballade No. 2" by Franz Liszt on the piano.

“Zeru Wang is very, very accomplished and new to the conservatory, therefore, new to Coeur d'Alene,” said Julienne Dance, director of the conservatory. “He’s just amazing. He's a pianist originally from China, and from the Midwest, but has been working at Gonzaga and is now also working at the conservatory.”

Dance is also excited about a rare sonata performance with bassoon and piano.

Tickets are $20 for individuals and $35 for families and are available online at cdaconservatory.org.
