Kristen Lynn Luttrell, 59

Kristen Lynn Luttrell ascended peacefully in her own home on the night of Oct. 1, 2023. Kristen was born Oct. 24, 1963, in San Bernardino, Calif., to parents Larry and Alice Adams. She was raised in La Verne, Calif., with her two younger sisters, Karyn and Kendra. Kristen graduated from Bonita High School in 1981 as an active member of the drill team. She studied English-language literature at the University of Montana. She had four children, Audra Delahunty, Annalise, Lukas and Levi Porto. She loved to travel by moving (rather than vacationing) throughout California, Arizona, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Idaho. In addition to being a member of the PTA, CHIP and Bahai Spiritual Assembly in North Idaho, she also served in AmeriCorps. 

Kristen brought her family to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 1989 to build a new life venture in the beautiful area. Her parents followed suit by building their homestead at Sage Creek Ranch in Athol, Idaho. Her siblings soon followed in unison.

Holding a strong faith for 15 years, Kristen followed the Baha'i beliefs in her everyday life and fulfilled a long-held dream to visit the Baha’i House of Worship in Wilmette, Ill. She shall be buried with a silver ring engraved with a Persian phrase that translates as, “I came forth from God, and return unto Him, detached from all save Him, holding fast to His Name, the Merciful, the Compassionate.”

She will be remembered for her witty humor, proper grammar knowledge and compassion for teaching her life lessons. She took great pride in her children, sisters and especially her granddaughter, Aurora. She was preceded in death by her nephew Ryan, father Larry, daughter Audra, and mother Alice. Her legacy shall continue with her beloved family and friends. She always knew peace, love and happiness were the true blend of this earth.

Her final resting place will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Athol, Idaho. As she would say at the end of every conversation, “PEACE.”
