It's 'Joe' time: River race this weekend

The "Race the Joe" boat races are scheduled for this weekend in St. Maries.

It begins Friday with the Show and Shine on Main Avenue from 6 to 8 p.m. It's a chance to see the boats, meet the teams, collect autographs and enjoy food and drink. Race the Joe apparel will be available to buy.

Around 15 teams are expected to compete in jet boat races, which are free to watch and run from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The course on the St. Joe River includes the area between the IFI Landing and Calder.

The forecast for this weekend is ideal for the annual event, with sunny skies and highs in the 80s.
