SCHOOL LEVIES: A ‘money hustle’

Imagine, more than 30 years of trying to convince a county of citizens that it’s all about acquiring cash — without ever mentioning adequate academic preparation for our kids and grandkids? Imagine, to have created a system where teachers could merely walk down the hall to vote (in off voting cycles) for ever more education taxes — without providing adequately performing public schools? (Up to 50% of students were/are unable to read and do math at grade levels — and then ‘graduate?’) Imagine school boards thinking they should garner financial support when they provide no public guarantee that they will not initiate CRT, or trans goofiness against ‘our’ kids and their parents?

For four years, this citizen attempted to ‘beg’ former state senator Mary Souza to please help solve this public education voting fiasco — above. Her endless desire to keep the voting block of our teachers was apparently far more important for her political future.

With the failure of levies and bonds, these districts must be audited by an outside agency. The obsession with ever more (often hidden) financing as ‘the’ districts’ goals, must have surely resulted in unacknowledged teacher efforts and results. Let’s hope this ends the money ‘hustle’ and prompts the beginning of Kootenai Counties’ public schools quest to academically equal our own award winning Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy or the Rathdrum Stem Academy.
