LIBRARY NETWORK ELECTION: Vote for Meyer and McCrea

A month or so ago, there was great angst expressed in the community over a sign with an Adolph Hitler quote. Without a doubt, Hitler was the essence of evil. It is important to note one of his first tactics was to ban books. In his mind, he and his ilk felt they should decide what books would be available for people to read.

On May 16 you have the chance to vote for two library district board members. Two are committed to ensuring the public have access to books of all persuasions, with strict controls on what children have access to with parental guidance.

Or you can vote for two individuals, who think they should determine what books are available to the public. Yes, regardless of what they are calling it, it’s banning books from our libraries.

Your choice, access to books, or someone telling you a book isn’t fit for you to read?
