World class guitarist to play the JACC

| May 5, 2023 1:00 AM

Classical guitarist David Rogers, termed "a prominent guitarist," by the New York Times and praised by The Washington Post for his "astonishingly florid" improvisations, performs at 4 p.m. May 21 at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center, 405 N. William St., Post Falls.

Rogers will present an evening of Spanish music, up-tempo Latin, The Beatles, settings of Leonard Cohen, Rolling Stones, Roxy Music, Cheap Trick and Carla Bley songs. He’ll also perform music by Johann Sebastian Bach and original compositions. To carry the show along, Rogers will tell stories and jokes about the music.

Rogers’ music has been featured in major magazines such as Fingerstyle Guitar in the United States and Akustic Gitarre in Germany. His solo and ensemble performances have been broadcast on American National Public Radio and Bayrische Rundfunk.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. for the show from 4-5:30. Tickets are on sale now for the performance.
