CDA SCHOOL LEVY: Vote yes

In times when it is hard to know if what you are reading, seeing and hearing is true, it’s important to find credible information before you cast your ballot in an election that determines the future of the next generation. As a student, I am that generation. My peers and I will be the ones taking care of you when you are sick, building your houses, fixing your cars and changing the world for the better.

Many of us have dreams to go to prestigious colleges, participate in D1 sports, attend trade schools and dual enroll. We need quality education, electives that prepare us for careers and reasonable class sizes for optimal learning. None of these will be possible without your yes vote. In my experiences as a student, I have benefitted from incredible teachers, chosen electives, numerous sports teams, extensive libraries and hope to take advantage of dual enrollment in the future. All of these are made possible only by the levy.

In deciding who to trust with levy information, you should listen to the people who are in our schools daily, like educators and students. Those are the people who are greatly affected by your vote. If the levy fails, the path ahead for students will be shattered all throughout our community, and recovery will be difficult. Vote yes on May 16, or through an absentee ballot, not just for education, but for the future of our community and country.
