SHOOTINGS: Not about the guns

Lately we’re seeing more and more calls for “gun control,” some call even for an amendment to our great constitution to remove our rights as citizens.

Neither side of the political aisle would disagree that we need to figure out how to stop our children being gunned down in schools. However, when does banning an inanimate object achieve these goals? When do we start looking at ourselves and figure out where we’ve gone wrong as a society which has led us to these unnecessary catastrophes.

The easy way out is pointing a finger at guns for this issue. Much harder for us to look in the mirror and come up with the real answer. Personally, I do believe the answer is for America to get back to believing in the American Dream and Importance of “God, Country and Man.”

Far too many historical powers have led their nations down the path of banning ownership of guns — Stalin, Hitler, Khmer Rouge — to name a few. Do we really want to go down this path?
