CARLSON: What about the tapes?

Concerning the tapes of the Jan. 6 insurrection that were given to Tucker Carlson by Kevin McCarthy: Does anyone else have concerns about these tapes being in the hands of a private citizen who isn’t even constrained by the “news” organization he once worked for? I have watched four different TV news channels since Carlson was fired by Fox News and I have somehow missed any mention of the tapes. Of course, I don’t watch constantly, but check the news daily.

Kevin McCarthy made a huge error at the time that he passed these tapes to an insurrection denier and a “believer” in the big lie regarding the election. Carlson converted the hours-long proceedings down to four-plus minutes to deceive people. His error is magnified now that Carlson is free to distort the tapes and their meaning in any way he chooses. The few things we have learned from the Dominion case against Fox shows how inclined he is to “talk out of both sides of his mouth.”

Will McCarthy be able to retrieve the tapes or will he even try to do this? Will Carlson distort the images even more than he has and convince his followers that they didn’t see what they saw on live TV? I’m not an investigative reporter so I hope someone out there with the means would help a concerned citizen answer her questions.
