HITLER QUOTE: A warning

To Christie Holum: you are wrong to believe that if we do not mention Hitler, his type of tyrant will not reemerge (look at Putin).

The eight words “To conquer a nation first disarm its citizens” are an even more powerful warning when they are ascribed to Adolf Hitler. To post those words without the attribution to such a dangerous person would lead many people to ignore the significance of this warning. If we do not study Hitler and his Nazis or other tyrants and their actions by name, then we do a disservice to our fellow citizens and especially to our younger citizens. How will they learn to recognize the subtle ways tyrants and dictators can take over the hearts and minds of others. It is also a warning to politicians who believe pacifism will protect us.
