SCHOOL LEVIES: Support our future workforce

I am writing in concern of the recently failed levy. All three of my children proudly graduated from school district No. 271. All three of my children have successful careers and donate back to their communities (including providing jobs in Coeur d’Alene.) Several of their classmates have gone on to become local dentists, dermatologists and ophthalmologists who have taken great care of the older generation in Coeur d’Alene with skilled hands and kind hearts.

As a community, we cannot forget that we get out of it what we put into it. Do you want great medical care that you can trust? Then we need to provide our students with an education that will encourage them to go on and continue to learn more. We also want to create a community that they will want to return to — to help us in our golden years.

Think of this next time you are in the voting booth. Can you see the ballot clearly? If not, you should visit Dr. Alison Granier — Valedictorian of the Class of 1998.
