Day Shift

• Several deputies responded to Fernan Lake for a possible drowning. As units arrived on scene and contacted the RP, who was up on the hill quite a distance away, it was determined it was not a drowning but a buoy that was marking a hole in the ice.

• Deputies responded to the area of Huetter Road and Wyoming Avenue for a report of a possible plane crash/emergency landing. Deputies and fire arrived on scene and located a smaller airplane in the field. The pilot was not injured, and the plane did not have any noticeable damage. The airport and FAA were notified and the scene was turned over to them.

• Deputies arrested a male for his felony warrant.

• Deputies responded to a citizen dispute near the Athol area. Deputies learned a property owner was attempting to “punch” a new road to his property through some land that is owned by the county. This process included cutting down and removing trees and removed a gate that did not belong to him. The male was issued a citation for damaging the gate, and advised to not do any more work or he could be facing more charges.

Evening Shift

• A deputy handled a fleet accident where a CDA PD vehicle was struck by another motorist while the officer was investigating another accident. The driver was transported to KH. At the hospital it was determined he was under the influence but was being treated and would be at the hospital for several hours. The hospital was instructed to contact the Sheriff’s Office when they were ready to discharge the male, however the male decided he wanted to leave early and he left the ER without his shoes. He was located and arrested for Aggravated DUI.

Night Shift

• Deputies responded to Stateline Showgirls for a possible overdose. It appears an employee was slipped an unknown substance in her drink by a male and had a reaction. She was taken to KH. The male in question had left the establishment. More follow-up investigation will be conducted to include reviewing video surveillance to try and identify the male will be completed.
