NIC: Appropriate to ask why
Dave Walker’s response to my “ask why” letter didn’t come as a surprise. If I don’t agree with his viewpoint, then I’m obviously part of the problem. Heaven forbid we question “why” people do what they do. After-all, there’s only one side to every issue. And in this case, the “terrible trio” simply intend to destroy North Idaho College. Yeah, let’s go with that. It’s easier. Because if we do, then there’s no need to research when NIC’s enrollment began to decline? What were the reasons? Who was in charge? What steps were taken to correct the downward trend? When and why did NIC’s accreditation become at risk? And finally, what’s the actual “Mission” of NIC and whom among the five trustees are working toward achieving it?
As I earlier stated, I don’t yet know the answers. But anytime an issue of this magnitude is so hotly contested and reported so one-sidedly, I believe it’s appropriate to question “why.”
