FAST FIVE Katie Huff: Consultant, volunteer, ambassador

Meet Katie Huff, a benefits consultant with the Murray Group who grew up in Spokane and now resides in Coeur d’Alene with her husband, daughter and two cats.

Katie started with the Murray Group in 2017, bringing almost two decades of knowledge in human resources, management, operations and employee benefits to the team. She has a passion for helping those around her by volunteering within the community and providing employers with excellent benefit options. Employers can always trust Katie to help them reduce benefit costs and come to them with a diagnostic mindset.

1) How many nonprofits and causes are you involved with at this time, and which cause(s) are nearest to your heart?

I am an ambassador for the Post Falls Chamber, Vice Chair Committee Member for the Post Falls River City Leadership Academy (RCLA), alumni to the 2021 RCLA Class (the best class ever), Post Falls Women in Business Committee Member and a part of the St. Vincent de Paul Souport Planning Committee. Some causes I am passionate about are the annual St. Vincent de Paul Souport event, the Post Falls Reverse Job Fair, the Post Falls Food Bank and the Genesis Prep annual gala to raise funds for its school building fund.

2) What is a chamber ambassador, and what are some of your roles/duties in that capacity?

A Post Falls Chamber Ambassador serves with a group of other leaders connecting local employers and members of our community. Some duties include participating in ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings and company tours, which I then share with others. As an ambassador I volunteer my time in planning and executing events that support local businesses.

3) What do you love most about volunteering in your community?

It fills my heart to have a positive impact on others.

4) What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

I once played on an annual dodge ball league.

5) When you're not volunteering or working, what are some of your hobbies or ways to relax?

I love my family. Right now, my daughter Annabelle and I look for any opportunity to get out on photo hikes. We love treasure hunting and dinking around at our area thrift stores.
