RENTS: More seniors being priced out

I’m writing because of a story that was in the Sunday paper. I know what that lady is going through. We have lived in this house for 15 1/2 years and now we were told to move. I’ve written the governor and it’s like he and no one else cares. Rent keeps going up, people are put out on the streets, money is spent on getting them back off the streets. Why can’t the money be spent to keep people in their homes? I’ve gone to Red Cross, VA, Idaho Housing… nothing happens.

I’m a vet, 20 years Army, I’m now on S.S. Army Retirement, my wife gets S.S. I’m told I make too much to even get into low income housing. It is really a bad going. Some way they need to bring rent, gas and food back down. Something needs to be done or there will be more homeless on the streets.

I’m not the only one in this boat.
