Spirit Lake police seek window shooter

SPIRIT LAKE — The Spirit Lake Police Department is asking for help finding those behind a string of window shootings in the town of about 2,500.

Five reports of pellet-sized holes found in residential windowpane glass have been received since December.

In each instance, no projectile was found. It’s possible that a “splat ball” or “gel ball blaster” type gun was used, said Caitlyn Trim, police spokeswoman.

She said police have not received any tips since asking for the public's help, but were contacted by another victim.
