UKRAINE: A war America doesn’t need

Ukraine is not our war and we don’t belong there financially or militarily. Six months after the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, Russia invades Ukraine and Biden turns on the money faucet.

Here is what your tax dollars are going toward: Biden is guaranteeing salaries, pensions and benefits for Ukrainian government employees but can’t guarantee aid for the people of East Palestine, Ohio, from the environmental train disaster. Hundreds of billions of dollars are flowing into Ukraine without any accountability, but Zelenskyy’s wife finds time to fly to Paris and blow $40,000 on clothes.

The Press editorial states that it’s not all about the money but also supporting Ukrainian democracy. Zelenskyy has consolidated Ukraine’s TV outlets and dissolved rival political parties. The reasoning? To prevent Russian disinformation. Zelenskyy banned Russian Orthodox churches, but Ukrainian Orthodox churches are OK. Censorship and religious discrimination anyone? The Biden administration stated early on that it was crucial for Ukraine to have a secure border to prevent Russian invaders yet our southern border is wide open. Clearly Zelenskyy doesn’t adhere to our Founding Fathers ideals, yet he is more than willing to take our money. Not my idea of democracy.

America does not need another endless war. The needs of Americans are urgent, but it appears that Ukraine is first and America is last.
