NIC: Elected officials are expected to do their jobs

NIC Board members were elected by the people, so why not let them do their jobs? Simply because they’re not doing it. Losing accreditation, downgraded bonds, lawsuits piling up, losing students, wasting millions of dollars, no confidence from faculty and students. We’re at the point of losing good local nurses and dentists in training. Our college-age children will leave the area. The property value and business that comes from having a college in town will go down for all of us. That’s utter gross failure. Blaming others, society, liberals, CRT, yada yada, doesn’t change the fact that it’s your job, board, acting president, your watch, and it’s not working.

As voters, none of us is a mind reader or fortune teller. Sometimes, we put the wrong people in the wrong place at the wrong time. The legislature, a union for politicians, has protected itself by making recall elections almost impossible. By the time another election comes around the damage will be even worse.

The board president wants everybody to be nice, now that they’ve done the damage. That would be pretending everything is fine, and it’s not. Three of you, your president (South) and your “attorney,” you know who you are, are following a stubborn path to even worse failure, for whatever unknown reason or agenda. If you don’t have enough sense to get off that path now, the final failure and immense damage to this community will ultimately be on your shoulders, your responsibility and yours alone.
