CDA SCHOOL LEVIES: A student asks, ‘please vote yes’

The levy is approaching on March 14, and it is crucial to helping our students. Many just focus on the educational aspects and the curriculum of schooling, but the environment in which students learn is even more important.

As a senior, I can look back on my education and reflect on the drive I had to become a leader and make positive changes in my school community that helped shape who I am. Being a part of the school district’s “Student Advisory Group” and having the privilege to serve as the head chair for this current year has opened my eyes to students’ wants and needs. Students are as concerned with the school itself and improving it as they are with their learning.

Being a captain of my soccer team this past year helped shape my thoughts and actions into those of a leader. Improving our extracurriculars wouldn’t just promote sports. It would promote leadership and passion. It would promote a greater sense of community among both students and parents. It gives the opportunity for a community to form, and I have definitely experienced that through the sport that I adore.

The opportunities that I have been blessed with as a student here in Coeur d‘Alene have shaped me into the person I am today. I can say with no doubt that I will carry my experience into college and wherever else life may take me. Please vote yes on both levies on March 14.
