CAR d’LANE: Event was disorganized

I normally do not write letters to the editor but I would like to comment on the Car d’Lane car show this past weekend. I was a participant in the show and have been in the past. This past show was so disorganized. A group of us arrived at 5:30 in the morning to line up for the event. We waited until they began parking cars. Cars were directed down Sherman as in the past, first come first served on a parking spot. Our group was directed down to Front Street instead and parked. Others that arrived much later were parked on Sherman as we should have been. Late comers should have been placed on Front Street. The visitor traffic on that street has very little traffic compared to Sherman.

We inquired with the volunteer parking people, they had heard many complaints. Also two of the group with us moved their cars to prime location at the intersection on Sherman. One was the Bugatti that drew so much attention at the show. Why was he able to move as well as a Shelby 350 Mustang. The show said no preferential treatment. Shows are suppose to be for the participants and this clearly was mishandled. The real crime is that the word will be spread all summerlong at other car shows that don’t bother with Coeur d’Alene, it’s a mishandled mess. Such a bad reputation for Coeur d’Alene and the sponsors including Mike White Ford. It looks like all Coeur d’Alene cares about is the money for the show and sponsors.
