Rathdrum seeks input for city campus

COEUR d'ALENE — Rathdrum is seeking public feedback for its city campus project.

A survey link has been posted on Rathdrum’s website, rathdrum.org, and will be available until July 12 to gather input for campus design.

The handful of short, open-ended questions are an effort to let you, the people, help project designers Architects West and J-U-B Engineers put together a popular plan.

The campus will include a city hall, police station and whatever community resource facilities the public says it wants.

Architects West says it wants the project to be "truly the people’s space."

The proposed campus would be located on Lancaster Road, across from the Kootenai Technical Education Campus.

Beyond that, there are no preconceptions.

The campus will likely take several years to develop and the design could rest for years before breaking ground, but an initial concept should be completed by fall.

With a design in hand, city staff would be able to apply for funding grants, which could take months or years. With a project fully designed, the city is more likely to be awarded grants which would speed things up.

City staff will host a booth July 22 at Rathdrum Days to gather feedback and share information about the campus project.
