DIVERSITY: Get involved with KCRCC

Great My Turn by Mike Baker in Saturday’s paper. Well said, Mike. I think a lot of us just sit around and figure the other guy will fix the problems. KCRCC, NIC and the vetting system that KCRCC uses and the people that are being, according to KCRCC, chosen as suitable to run is a problem. There doesn’t seem to be much discussion when you see some of the choices. Very little or no diversity just far right. This is just one of the problems.

A couple of weeks ago a My Turn by Deborah was right on regarding the KCRCC. If we want change we need to get involved starting with the precinct committee people. Do you know who represents your precinct and your precinct number? There are 73 precincts in Kootenai County and seven with no committee person. Some of the committee people representing you are Brent Regan No. 205, Greg McKenzie No. 312, Art Macomber No. 407, Joe Alfieri No. 420, Todd Banducci No. 518 and Tony Wisniewski No. 519 to name a few.

Other folk may be your neighbor and very good people but are they truly representing everyone and getting facts or just opinions? Do you like their choices and how they arrive at those choices? Find out who they are and try to get information on them. Their emails are the precinct #@kcrcc.com.

Get involved, run, listen, discuss, show respect for opinions that may be different than yours. Don’t just be a “my way or the highway” type. You might be surprised — could be some good ideas out there if we just listen. Again, listen, get involved, be respectful! We are a diverse community — I hope not just made up of extremists — right or left.
