CITIZENS’ LEVERAGE: Spending decisions

America is facing a time when some major corporations and some politicians are ignoring basic common sense, time-honored moral values and the voices of a major percentage of the general public.

With suspect state and national elections the norm rather than the exception, there is one venue that the ordinary citizen still controls — what leaves his or her wallet, and where the money goes.

Individual Americans have never been in a better position to let their voices be heard through their personal spending.

When CEOs, advertising executives and politicians exalt a tiny, tiny percentage of citizens to highlight immorality, fiscal irresponsibility, racial division and religious persecution; an assault on their financial bottom line will cause even the most high-minded to take notice.

This writer has already removed three major corporations from my routine spending.

I live off the grid so do not have access to social media, but would encourage readers who have the ability to spread the word via the internet, to vote early and often with your wallets. Let those entities who seek to undermine the foundations of goodness in America know that there will be a hefty price to be paid.
