BATTERIES: Hang on to your wood-burning stove

| June 4, 2023 1:00 AM

I recently purchased a battery powered 40V lithium hand-held blower for driveway and parking areas.

No more gas burning, Earth polluting relics for me. But wait, I ran out of power long before task accomplished — guess I need an extra battery. Wow, single battery cost more than original blower and battery combined. Well, yikes — but should do the job — oops, not quite — out of power again and task incomplete.

So, I retrieved my gas blower 60 miles away and completed the job. Such a sweet sound and sweet smell of that gasoline engine! But wait — why all the drama to do with one battery powered blower — because this is just the tip of the gigantic iceberg that is about to crush our nation.

Please imagine a future moment in time when only electric battery powered vehicles transport people and goods nationwide and military vehicles too. Think of 30-60 minutes to fill up (on fast-charge at gas station) — the line would likely stretch to Athol and beyond. Hey, anybody, just where is all of the electric power going to come from? What about cost? With Democrat government subsidies, will it be free? Free is good, but wait — even if it’s free but there isn’t any power — is that a problem? I think now is a great time to buy stock in towing companies — also I suspect that anger management therapy will be in huge demand. Hmm, I think I need more proof on these melting glaciers and rising oceans. Nope, John Kerry isn’t reliable. His 10-year end-of-civilization prophecy expired 40 years ago.

P.S. Note to self — Don’t give up my wood-burning stove — ever!
