RESTRICTIONS AND BANS: Many ‘are wonderful’

I am responding to a letter written by Ron Boothe on April 16. There is several problems with his letter. He used to “Respect many Republican values.” Now he sees, “Republicans passing all kinds of restrictions and bannings, making laws against such things as birth control, health science, human nature, and things that are so rare as to be ignored by all but scientific experts.” He also says, “They are assuming the traits of Taliban.” These quotes beg the question, since when is it wrong to ban horrible things?

While I do not agree with all of the Republican party’s values, I still do think that a lot of their bannings are wonderful. For example, trying to ban pornography (oh I’m sorry), sex education books from libraries. These books can be disastrous to children leading to teen pregnancy and abortion.

But what is most important is that the bans are in accord with the Bible. This nation was founded on the word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. So, why is it surprising when one of our political parties is trying to be in line with the Bible. It states in the Bible that things such as pornography, abortion, and homosexually are sins and therefore should be banned. I think we should not put our trust in any political party, but ultimately put all our trust in the king of kings and in the Lord of Lords.
