LIBRARY NETWORK: Faith calls for doing good on Sabbath

I find it a little conflicting that one of the Community Library Board members is using the commandment about honoring the Sabbath as a potential reason to limit the availability of the library for people whose time may be limited on the other days of the week.

This seems to be an imposition of one’s personal beliefs upon others who may not share them. In the faith that espouses honoring the Sabbath I believe there is also the question whether is it lawful to do good on Sabbath? Helping the community, which the library does, is a good that many in the community enjoy. Why should that good be denied them?
