Hayden Days begins Friday
Get ready to celebrate all things Hayden as the city’s annual summer festival is preparing to launch.
The two-day event runs from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at McIntire Family Park, 8930 N. Government Way.
The event offers food and mixed goods vendors, a kid's area with bouncy houses, games and pony rides and for the grownups — the Hayden Senior Center Beer and Wine Garden.
Entertainment includes the Kelly Hughes Band performing Friday at 6:30 p.m.; the Hayden’s Got Talent show at 12:45 p.m. Saturday and the Rhythm Dawgs performing at 6:30 p.m. the same day.
Demonstrations are planned: the Hayden Senior Center Line Dancers on Friday at 4:30 p.m.; Alta Dance Performance on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and a KCSO K-9 demo Saturday at noon.
The Hayden Days parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, and it includes a flyover by No Limits Aviation.
The Hayden Days Car Show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at the Hayden Main Ball Field on Honeysuckle Avenue, adjacent to McIntire Family Park.
The sponsors, Hayden Cars, will choose the top cars from each category, which will be announced at 3:30 p.m. at the car show.
The entry fee is $10, and the first 100 registrants will receive a dash plaque. T-shirts will also be available for purchase.
There are 20 car classes and all years, makes and models of cars and trucks are welcome.
