REGAN: ‘Another tour de force in hypocrisy’

Brent Regan’s latest opinion piece is another prime example of misdirection and sleight-of-hand. He engages in a series of ad hominem attacks on his opposition, while simultaneously accusing them of doing the same to him. This is exhaustingly typical of the leader of the KCRCC.

My favorite part was when he offered a metaphor about “due diligence,” in which a gullible customer is handed “a handful of fatty hamburger” instead of the prime fillet steak they’d paid for. Then Regan offers sympathy to the victim for having been blamed for not checking before they’d bought it. The analogy itself is spot on, however Regan uses it to promote his KCRCC’s feverish efforts to instruct you who to vote for. In other words, he’s saying, don’t shop at that dishonest butcher anymore, instead shop at this dishonest butcher and take his word for what you’re buying. But still don’t look under the wrapper.

I won’t compare the recent elected officials that were endorsed and shoved down our throats by Mr. Regan and his KCRCC with a handful of fatty hamburger. That would be wrong.

As for Mr. Regan himself, if you do your due diligence and research the red meat of the many things he accuses his opposition of doing, you will find his facts as unlike prime fillet steak as in his very own analogy. Thanks, Brent, for another tour de force in hypocrisy.
